Research lines include:
- Circulating inflammatory factors (cytokines, chemokines) in body fluids
- Isolation of extracellular vesicles from neural, microglial and astroglial origin and cargo analysis (RNA and proteins)
- non coding RNAs in PBMC.
Besides a better understanding of pathogenic mechanisms, we aim to identify biomarkers to predict the prognosis in relapsing-remitting patients (i.e. relapsing versus secondary progressive) and the development of cognitive dysfuntions. In addition, longitudinal analysis of the above mentioned factors is ongoing to identify early predictors of treatment response or non-response.
